IRTA and URV invite interested candidates to apply for this exciting three-year PhD opportunity.
Project Title: Improvements in extraction protocols and liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry methods for the food safety of seafood in the Northwest Mediterranean Coast
Topic: The aim of this thesis is to improve extraction protocols and the application of liquid chromatography methods coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS) for the study of emerging contaminants and marine toxins in seafood samples. There are currently numerous studies on potential contaminants in food and the environment that have alerted agencies associated with food safety and the environment, to better understand the existing risks. For this, sensitive and fast methods are required for the determination of these emerging pollutants and marine toxins.
Supervisors: Dr. Maria Rambla-Alegre (IRTA) and Dr. Francesc Borrull (URV)
Closing date for applications: 15th November 2020 (provisional start date ~ Januray 2021)
