The SEAFOODTOMORROW Consortium gathered in Ghent, Belgium for the 18-month project meeting on 14th and 15th of May. Almost 70 researchers and industry representatives gathered to discuss the latest results from the project.
The two-day meeting began with a historical overview of Ghent University (UGent), by Wim Verbeke (UGent). Updates from each task leader on the progress made in the first 18 months of the project followed. Significant developments have been made towards the objectives of the project and the innovative solutions being developed. A social dinner at the prestigious Het Pand, concluded the first day of the meeting.
Updates from all work packages continued on the second day. Looking forward to the second half of the project, the consortium is preparing for increased stakeholder engagement on the new seafood products and technologies that have been developed.
The meeting concluded with António Marques, SEAFOOD<sup>TOMORROW</sup> project coordinator, congratulating all partners on a successful 18 months and reporting that 224 people are currently participating in the project and that 58% are women.
